Partly because Tesla have a choice of chargers... mobile or fixed, with the fixed one being more expensive. $475 vs $250-ish.

An Ioniq 5 equivalent to a Model Y costs more and doesn't qualify for $7,500 tax rebate. Ioniq 5 comes with a level 1 charger which charges extremely slow.

It would be a valid argument if the Tesla was more expensive(which it was until a few months ago) and still came with no charger.

Mine didn't unless you mean the 110v charger which is next to useless IMO. It came with 2 years of charging at Electrify America stations though which is a lot more usefu.

I wouldn't worry about the charging port. CCS and NACS uses the same underlying protocol so the adapter will be a cheap one (and may even be supplied by the manufacturer for free).

I'd agree with you regarding looking forward and planning on getting a NACS style plug but I'd disagree that Tesla is known for their quality in the EV world.

Not necessarily. It depends on your view and comfort. I have a Tesla and went with Juicebox 48 for the rebate the electric company was providing and if I ever decide on another EV, I have options and am not limited. Other family members can charge if they visit too.

The EV charging door on the Tesla still opens if you press it when unlocked. I keep the adapter in the trunk, so it gets unlocked anyways. It's not a hassle at all. So don't feel like you have and should stick with a Tesla.

Haha yeah, that's why I said the quality is pretty good and not excellent. That's based on personal experience and people I know with Teslas, I have read some of the horrid stories but have no personally encountered them. 🤷

Wrong. Many different OEM's are no longer including them or have started charging for them on the window sticker. Hyundai, Kia, Ford, VW

Nothing at Tesla is free. They will charge your for their own poor quality. Their warranty is trash.
