Thanks a million. Signed up as new user and using same login works. I too didn't have to cancel the old account. Immediately after receiving the confirmation of the order for the new account, I received the following email.

We received your cancelation request, and we're on it. Thank you for being an Xfinity customer. While we might not be the right fit for you at this time, know that we're here for you if anything changes. While we process your request, you can view your cancelation details below and check out our Cancelation Guide for even more information. You'll find details about returning your equipment, keeping your On Demand purchases and Xfinity Mobile service, and more.
To clarify, you signed up as a new user using your current xfinity login and it automatically cancelled your previous contract?

One of the most evil monopolies on the planet.

T-Mobile for the home is the lesser of evil evils for Internet. [If you have a 5G cell site near by your house]. Even though you'd think a hard line (sudo fiber or fiber to the hood, not home usually) should be a better experience; but it's not, due to customer service and stuffing the bill, etc. Draconian TOS everywhere, and I am sick of it. FU Commie cast!

Do not fall for cell Internet data. It's throttled like crazy.

You are NOT getting a deal by threatening to cancel Xfinity, only to get a lower, yet still very BAD price. Plus fees.

I've ALWAYS called them up when the my "term" expired. EVERY TIME I've gotten more bandwidth for LESS MONEY.
800gb for $50
You don't even need to call anymore.. you can see the same deals for existing customers on their website when you log in and renew that way

I am paying $25 a month for Commiecast for 200 down and xFi Complete and their equipment . The last SD people were getting the deal for $35 with xFi Complete but I got a social media rep to find the free xFi promo. Price is good for 24 months. Ill probably move by then. IMO its a better deal than TMO Home Internet, more stable. TMO HI is good if you have Magenta and you get a good price and you have good reception in your home. IN other words I think I have a great deal with Comcast. And if you do not buy any tv service from them , internet only does not get fees

I dont have an Xfinity mobile discount - as one person it would not be worth it

I currently pay $20 for 800 Mbps. It also includes the mobile discount since have Xfinity mobile. In my area, we have 3 different options for internet and Xfinity always gives me the best deal.
Golden example of how competition can benefit the consumer.

I hate this company, I hate them so fricken much.

So after cancelling and signing up on Friday and getting shiny new gigabit for the same price as I was paying for 200mgbs. Yesterday I get 5 notifications for exceeding my data "allowance" (cap). New deals all have unlimited data.

WTF!?

Sparring you the cliff notes of my hours arguing on the phone: YOU HAVE TO USE THEIR EQUIPMENT TO GET IT! Which is absolutely stupid/ridiculous as it's a simple option in their system to enable it for anyone's account. I've seen it, I worked for Comcast 10 years ago.

Some other provider cannot move into my neighborhood fast enough (and they are, that's why the price drop).

The vast majority of people don't have access to Att fiber. For their own website they are available in *select* areas of 21 states. I'm in the NE, they have no coverage anywhere near me. Doubt they'll be coming because at one point ATT did have service in the area, but sold it off to Frontier. Which if you can believe it, is even worse then Xfinity.

They are who I would have to return to for fiber. Which I really don't want to do.

no secret just research and find solutions - key to 5G is (1) getting a good reliable signal - without that its pointless... (2) because TMHI is lowest priority, a modem (not the free GW) that can band lock and if budget allows an external antenna.

ahh so it is limited but if you pay extra 15/month rental for their xfi gateway you get the unlimited.

Exactly. So it's actually a 10 dollar difference for me. I had signed up for it, got 10 dollars off initially for my own modem, 5 more for auto pay, then found out I don't get unlimited data if I use my own modem. So instead of 55/month i'm paying 65/month and having to use their BS modem. Which already has strangely lost connectivity overnight when my own equipment hasn't ever done such in 3+ years.
