Just returned my LG ultrafine 4k back to Costco. Garbage… went down after 20 days. Hate it. The usb c died.
This is a regular problem that model has. I hate the entire lg now.

I feel this monitor is PERFECT for those who just want a UW monitor. If you have other aspirations - gaming, coding, 1% issue in life - you will hate it.

If you just want a UW monitor for WFH purposes or for eye sight issues....this is PERFECT. It does what it needs to do.

My biggest gripe outside of the monitor though is the actual power cord. It's wonky and not "standard" as any other monitor. I hate when companies buck trends for no reason. Reminds me of when Xbox had a gaudy large external power brick up until their XSX/XSS lineup.

I use this regularly for coding and creating architectural diagrams. Why do you think people would hate it for such purposes?

I have a pair of these flanking a vertical 27" 2560x1440 IPS monitor in vertical orientation and they look great! I never use them for gaming, so I can't speak to ghosting issues for stuff like that, but it's great for the office/development/architectural stuff I use them for.

Agree. I just returned my 2nd 2020 model LG ultrawide 34 - the first one died after 6 months, the second after 2 years. I have now upgraded to a 2017 LG ultrawide 34 a friend stopped using. It works great and the contrast is better. Go figure. But what I learned is that if you're going to buy a monitor, buy it from Costco. The customer service was awesome on the return.

Wouldn't a curved monitor affect architectural software accuracy? I've never used one, I'm just curious. I use Autocad Architect sometimes, but never with a curved monitor.

Sorry, software architecture. Not CAD stuff. Although, I have done that before, too, and I'd have no concerns with that on here. If you're trying to make it accurate by eye, you're doing it wrong. You enter measurements into the software, snap to grids, etc. for accuracy. A bad curve could cause perception problems, but this monitor's curve is slight enough that it keeps your perspective aligned for the whole screen as long as you're centered. It's a little weird from off-center, but still not bad.

I make diagrams like these: Example 1 [microsoft.com], Example 2 [microsoft.com]

USB-C on my LG Ultrawide went down about 6 minutes after my warranty expired. It was not cost effective to repair.

I sold it second hand for a pittance with the 1 disabled port. I honestly like most Dell monitors and had very few issues over the years. Their support is more robust, as well. Though it still sucks, it's a level up from LG.

Only a few days left of this deal. That said I picked this up from the warehouse and I will be returning it. I could stand the poor viewing angles and poor colors and brightness compared to an IPS display. But the annoying whining sound whenever it's powered on with a source plugged in is headache-inducing and a massive dealbreaker. The speakers would also intermittently play some white noise even though it was muted (though I seemed to fix this by manually turning the volume setting all the way to 0 alongside muting it).
