I've been eyeing the Toro electric snow blower for some time now because I have the lawnmower and the single stage snow blower. I got an email from Home Depot saying it was on sale.
I clicked on it and couldn't believe my eyes, it was $899 [homedepot.com].
I think this is a good deal. I bought one, hopefully not a cancellation. My total came out to be $955.19 after 6.25% sales tax.

I purchased it at full price 2 - 3 years ago when Toro came out with this model.
It is powerful and runs long enough on 2, 7.5ah batteries to clear my 3 car driveway and sidewalk on two sides of my corner lot.
However, there is one major drawback of using a battery-powered one in Wisconsin slushy snow. It lacks the heat that the gas-powered ones generate, which helps prevent the blower from bogging down frequently.
Everyone that I can see from my house except an older couple had 2-stage blowers. Here's my only concern:
It's July, so if there are any problems, I won't know until...Oct/Nov. As I'm heavily invested in Greenworks, I know how good their customer service is. I just don't know about Toro's.
I'm doing research as I type, checking Google for advice. This price is GREAT for a two stage 26 inch blower, but I don't wanna be embarrassed out there and my neighbors with gas-powered 2 stage blowers have to bail me out. Minnesotans are very passive, so they'd be laughing their asses off with a smile on their face.

If you see Estes who's shipping your product, good luck. I bought from Lowes and HD and when Estes was delivering, they both came damaged.
The top of the box was nonexistent so it was really dusty. It was so dusty, I couldn't get the joystick to rotate the chute. It kept grinding. I opened the housing, cleaned everything, and greased it up a little bit and I got it to work.
The non-repairable issue I had was the battery housing was cracked. Since it was an open air box, the straps holding the snow blower down, broke a portion of the battery cover. It was purely cosmetic, but you would have to jiggle the cover a little bit to get it clipped on.
I have four 7.5 Ah batteries.
- 1 from the Super Recycler, which by the way is more expensive than this snow blower
- 1 from the single stage snow blower I bought
- 2 from this 2 stage snow blower
I'm on the hunt for 2 more, but I'm going to see how well this handles my long driveway. I had originally planned on having this snow blower at my rental properties because my dad can easily turn it on and go. But I have 3 houses worth of snow blowing to do, so I'm going to test it on my house first.
Just checked my box, nothing on there about needing to stay upright other than the "this side up" marker. It was delivered on a pallet, but I think the box was just sitting on it, not attached.

During the first plowable snow of the season, I used it on regular mode and it didn't clear my driveway, I had about 10% left. I had to change out the pair for a new pair of batteries. The snow was really wet and heavy and only had about 3 - 4 inches on the ground. My driveway holds 6 cars double wide. During the 2nd round which had lighter snow, I learned my lesson and put the snowblower on eco mode and it completed my driveway easily this time around. I also had a burning smell as well, it was weird. I couldn't find anything wrong with it. Maybe it was the first time use smell?
I love how quiet it is. I can have a full conversation while snow blowing.
