I feel like I am always going to be sad about the microcenter deals. Don't have one near me. My bank account though is happy.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Realtek, other than their lack of penetration into the 10Gbe space.

For anyone considering this, don't let this dissuade you. You can always add PCIe cards. Heck, it used to be that you had to buy cards for everything.

Decent bundle. Don't care much for gigabyte boards. This one def cut corners on audio and lan. The latter being all realtek.

Good deal on the cpu/ram. I am still finding a use for the 12700K+asus z690 d4 bundle from last october. That was $350 OTD and included no ram.

Fantastic deal, but as the poster above...dont care for Gigabyte. Become known for quality issues and cutting corners and sketch warranty support. Jus google "Gigabyte gpu pcb crack"...scary stuff.

MC will probably bundle an MSI or Asus board at some pt, better alts.

I saw this deal early morning and passed until they add Asus/MSI. It's a hard pass on Gigabyte. This 12900 and Asus using DDR5 (memory excluded) was $410 awhile ago.

Although it's been a good few months since they posted this good of a intel $$$ deal.

I'm upgrading a 10700k as well, went with the 7700X. I'm only using it for gaming, and I'm interested in the free Starfield promo. Plus, better efficiency, and a slightly newer generation if I remember correctly.

No way.

The one in OP has an i9 and the one you linked is an i7.

It's true that Gigabyte's QC has gone down from its heyday in the early 2010s, but not enough to justify paying more for a downgraded processor.

EDIT: Note: I'm factoring overall performance of the i9, not just back to back in gaming. If you're just looking for a pure gaming machine, the newer i7 pulls ahead.

Yes. Per You Tube reviews. The 13700K is actually an all around better performer for most gaming workloads than the 12900K. But it does depend on your use case of course. But many share go 13700K over the 12900K.

Pretty sure Fry's killed Fry's with their loose open box policy and wanting to turn into another Best Buy.

The local one had expanded their cell phone and AT&T help desks so far that it started to push out the physical media section.
