Great little handheld. I picked one up for a little less than this a few months back and have been enjoying it almost daily at work. I upgraded to a 128GB SD card (picked up a Samsung for $10 on Prime Day), changed the OS, and added thousands of games. With the exception of 1 or 2 games, everything has run smoothly, even the PS1 games.

Now I'm considering upgrading to a more powerful handheld that'll run DC and Wii games. But this is still a great introductory handheld for getting into the hobby.

Shop for anything with a t618 chipset. I paid $115 for powkiddy x18s black but I'd recommend the retroid pocket 3+ or anbernic rg505 or rg405 around $160(in hindsight I'd spend more for better build) if you want to spend more get a steam deck

It is better in that it doesn't have a the Dpad walking issue (The Contra Test). Also the Mini has little to no bezel around the screen. The Mini is very prone to screen damage from minimal falls due to this. The RG35 allows you to play on your TV via HDMI, the Mini does not.

I just got mine from T-mu last night. This is a great price and an amazing machine. Works just fine out of the box... But garlic makes it better... The basic interface it comes with works...it's just blah. All the games are there, super easy to use.

People on SD regularly buy $2k OLEDs and $2k Sony FF cameras, so I'd say yes. No personal experience but they are reliable.
