i bought this set a year ago to replace my 10 year old cheap wusthof set (plastic) but i did not even open it yet, because wusthof just does not want to die/break.. it is a good set for the price though, compared to other choices

Seems like no name steel being used, I could not find steel type etched on the pictures. Could still be good enough.

An alternative is to grab a couple of important knives made out of proper steel - such as Victorinox 8" or something.

If one is going to buy Henckels, one should at least get the models which are made in Spain with the German steel.
