I'm guessing these smaller ovens are popular because people don't have to replace a large appliance, can cook smaller meals without heating a larger oven, etc.
I don't have an "air fryer" but they seem great. Just have to watch out for enormous energy consumption (this is 1760-watts; or 18 100W light bulbs) and the cheap "non-stick" applications where material comes off in your food that plague many of them..
This foodnetwork article and good reviews on pretty much every site helped convince me.

If you want a true Pressure cooker with an air fryer, Ninja calls it the Foodi 14-in-1. It's usually priced at $229

Biggest con is the somewhat more involved cleaning. The crisper tray is a bit hard to handwash due to the many grooves though it can be put in the dishwasher too. The top lid is also a bit hard to clean. My wife has been impressed with the chicken coming out of it and asked me how I found it. I told her it was from slickdeals!

to further along your comment though, air fryers have exploded because of how useful they are for 1-2-3 person households. it completely eliminates the time and power consumption of what our built in convection ovens are able to do for us. and if you think about the electricity consumption of running your air fryer for 20-30 minutes, just think about the consumption of your built in convection ovens when they have to be ran for 2x that long due to the need of pre-heating.
so unless you are feeding 4-5-6-7 mouths a night every night, it is almost always going to be worth investing in an air fryer to cook out of 4-5 nights a week. not only the $$ savings but also the health savings. even re-heating frozen foods, you can see the amount of rendered excess oils (from pre-frying) pool up at the bottom of your air fryers when theyre finished cooking (all of that oil you would consume normall if you had not rendered it out , just think about that).

I have never been a "cook". Loathed the whole process of cooking, cleaning it up etc.
I bought mine about 3 months or so back.
The Speedi meals function on this model is precisely what I needed. I have no use for a pressure cooker. The one pot meals are what separates this thing from your basic standalone air fryer. As others have noted, put your veggies, rice etc in the bottom, protein on the top and in 20 minutes or less you have a healthy full meal. Cleanup is an absolute breeze.
Also, there are a bunch of people on YouTube making videos with this exact model doing meals. I have found this to be super helpful in the learning curve of figuring out which function to use, times, temps etc.
I paid $100 and felt like I should go back and give them more money after using it for a while.
At $80 it's a steal.
