Played this first with a group of drunk 40 year olds and we voted for the path and died crushed in a crawlspace.

Played later with a 6 year old (he was sober) and died in several other horrible ways.

TL;DR: Fun for all ages, would die again!

Watched a review, looks like a tedious and dumb game.
My wife and I tried it. It was ok. We never finished it. In the games defense, she isn't really a gamer.

If you have fond memories of the Choose Your Own Adventure books it's worth picking up for the $7.50 price I bought it at. If you're only looking at it through the lense of other games which have more going on…I don't think it's worth $13.50.

It's basically one of those books with some icing of post thought mechanics thrown on.

I bought this but.
Amazon reviews are sketchy at best. I've had sellers offer me gift cards and $ to leave positive reviews .

This (and The downvoted poster is correct).
It's neat for nostalgia, but it's a one or two plays and done game, it's not one you'll bust out often (especially with *any* non-tabletop player friends)

I have this game. Played it about twice. The scenarios are pretty cool. The two games we played we died twice. It's kind of like a self guiding d&d type of game. I would definitely play it again if I had someone to play with. I will say though after playing it so many times you'll end up memorizing the scenarios and will already know how to survive, but that still doesn't make it an easy game. Also, my buddy told me that it's based off some books

Same experience here. The added points/token system isn't really meaningful, the game was good for spending time with my kids but not very exciting.

6.3 (out of 10) from BGG reviews (not Amazon shills).

Good price, mediocre game sounds like.

Played it with 8 and 10 year old's. Gameplay is uneven/random and there seem to be only one path to victory. Not sure about re-play-ability - they have declined playing it again.

If you are a big CYOA fan and love games, give it a whirl. Otherwise I'd pass.

Amazon reviews are a joke. No one really reviews the long term use of the item; just how pretty it is on initial receipt. I gave up on looking for reviews and just search out reddit.

Not a bad deal.

Just be warned that this is geared more towards casual fun than serious gameplay. There's not much skill or strategy involved, basically a choose your own adventure story on cards.

The game takes a few hours if you're properly exploring.
It's also split up into four sections so there are easy stopping points if you want to pause. If you're a more serious gamer trying to "win" as quickly as possible... Probably don't bother. It's definitely about the journey, not the destination.

There is also absolutely no replay value aside from exploring some areas you might have missed, and only one ending.
