Yes, without a paid subscription, you can only get alerts and view the cameras live.

Bought these for $30 also on sale on Amazon prime day. Great camera, wide recording. I replaced it over my Logitech circles since they're discontinued. Easy installation also. FYI the mount on the bottom is taken off by sliding it upwards. They didn't have instructions for some reason.

Amazon/Ring has a history of giving footage from your cameras to cops, even without a warrant. I'm going to pass on paying to invite the cops into my house, but you do you.

Too dumb to even know the right questions but here goes.

i have a 6 bay QNAP NAS that I am reinstalling. I never got if fully installed operational when I decided to take it down after the security breach a year ago. Will this work with the QNAP and eliminate the need for any Amazon/Ring subscription. My NAS currently has 4 X 14TB in RAID5 so no lack of storage.

The post about seeing some recordings was right a few years ago, then they took away that free capability and now they keep raising the price of their subscription.

Ring deliberately removed the ability for me to see my own video feed on my network in my own house (rtsp). As long as you are a happy customer, and are paying them, this is a good deal but I'm moving my doorbell and then other cameras to a more open concept where I can save my own data.

I know you can watch it live for a few minutes and then it will time out. When that happens, I just go back in to the camera or reload/refresh. Not a constant live feed for me and I pay for the subscription.

Subscription and cloud storage. All Amazon so a big no no.

And no you cannot view individual files. All thru the app and download using the app one video at a time.

This is what a lot of people don't understand. Ring/Amazon records everything and just hides it from you until you pay them.
