Not a ryobi hater, but in my opinion (and from my experience), these are the two worst tools they make.

That's funny.....I actually love that little circular saw and it never fails to get the job done!

These look similar to my ryobi brushed circular saw and ryobi brush jig saw. For me and most diy people, these will be great. If I didn't already own them, I'd buy this kit.

Stongly disagree, I though i'd want the bigger circular saws, I now realize I use the smaller one way more. Like by miles more. I'm tempted but I already have the circular, but my jigsaw is still corded. I guess I can leave the circular at the rental.

Wonder if the small circular would be good for cutting out some rotted sections of my deck. Have been wondering how to do it with a bit more precision. Don't want to cut too deep, don't want to hack up neighboring boards.

You might want to consider an oscillating multi tool. Cutting out things with precision is basically the point of those.

Yeah thought about that too. Spent some time trying to figure out a good cutting attachment for them.

Not even close. The circular saw is underpowered and the jigsaw has too much blade deflection. Used both extensively, finally upgraded to better options and the difference was night and day. These 2 tools by Ryobi are junk.

I wanted to like the size as well, it was just too underpowered to cut through pretty much anything. Very limited options for blades too. I got the 6.5 Dewalt and it was a night and day difference in cut speed, power, and consistency.

yes the 6.5 is a good balance in between if you're cutting more tough stuff. I haven't had any issues with basic home stuff, 1/2" ply, 2x4 , light and fast for most projects.

To be fair, if the ryobi was a bit more powerful it would have remained in my toolbox. But even the slightest bit of bind or resistance and the blade would stop. Never have this issue with my dewalt...it powers through.

No arguing, but price can't be the same between Ryobi and Dewalt. Especially if you are diy and deep into the ryobi owner-sphere. Really don't wanna add a separate battery for infrequent cutting jobs

Completely understand...that was my initial issue as well. But a tool is only as good as how much you can rely on it when you need it and I couldn't rely on it at all. It just flat out sucked.

I wanted to upgrade to brushless anyways and the dewalt stuff was on sale so I upgraded nearly everything. Kept my impact wrench, router and brad nailer from ryobi though, and now I just manage 2 brands. It's not hard at all.
