Some stores have this for $15.97 but mine had several sets (maybe 6 of them) for $25.37. I see another store close to me with a $17.47 price. Looks like there may be decent availability out there, a store close to me that had several sets does not show in Lowe's inventory. I think once some items hit the clearance shelf they are pulled from public inventory. I don't work there, just going by observation.

I don't fully trust Brickseek's inventory records for Lowe's (or really any store to be honest but for some they used to be quite accurate)...they only see what Lowe's allows them to see. Too often it's stagnant data, set to clearance, or quantities are 0, or prices aren't updated. It's just a data feed...I get the concept but I don't trust it. I've seen many stores carry inventory but according to Brickseek it's not there (when it really is). The opposite of that is true too but I would imagine that's more the norm if the inventory record doesn't match actual inventory. That's one reason stores have annual inventory periods, I'm sure there are audit and tax reasons too but I don't want to make it too complicated of a point.

In my experience, lowes will actually have 1 or 2 units in stock but show as OOS on BS and app. That leads me to believe they have a safety quantity to avoid overselling (pretty standard in ecom world). The cases where it says 1 or 2 in stock online and it can't be found, they are usually up high on a shelf somewhere hidden and nobody knows where to look.

The bigger takeaway is that they are sharing in store clearance prices.

That's been my experience as well. The problem IMO is that by the time something reach screaming deal status (70% off or more) it's been on clearance for a while and it's either stuck up top because the computer didn't tell the inventory people to put it down on the floor, it's burried behind a bunch of newer model items, or it's up on some random shelf waiting to be returned to the distribution center.

Yeah I think you're right. I've seen them pick items and put them in a cart for returning. I think they might wholesale them out to 3rd party clearance stores like Ollies or whoever else. Retail is about making money, not letting things sit forever. When you get down to 1-2 quantity I lose faith pretty quickly in inventory numbers. Sometimes you can dig and I guess that's part of the hunt, however it's hard to not feel stupid after you swing and miss several times!

I got the 1/4" and 3/8" Pro90 as part of larger socket sets in years past . Mine are made in Taiwan.

I know it's really not fair to nitpick a $5 ratchet, but here's a guy doing a tear down, if you're thinking of adding some lube to quiet in down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q...qws&t=343s

This is the one that came in my 118 pc set (stamped #337308). I'm pretty sure it's the same as what comes in this 3 pc ratchet set. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-9...et/3381168

It's not like Brickseek is the most reliable anyway.

Oh some or someone's used their five finger discount program and that will mess up the inventory until a physical count is retaken.

90 tooth are a premium build, no? I have my craftsman 80th anniversary set with teardrop ratchets, but given what I can sell my 80th anniversary stuff for now, I may put that aside and get something like this. To think I was buying and giving the 80th anniversary stuff away to friends/family back then. I bought everything I saw being cleared out.
