Glad I held out a little longer, had it in my cart last night for 270 something. 199 is definitely a deal
The standard one is better in some situations (tight clearances) and still amazing in most. You can still use it like a normal ratchet to break things loose and snug them up and just use the electric to run the bolts in and out. I absolutely love mine!
My buddy is a mechanic and has the non fuel, fuel, and high speed fuel and hates the fuel due to the large head blocking clearance... just my 2 cents as well

Any comments?
I know someone with that exact drill set and it feels cheap (I'm sure it's fine).

Ask yourself if you really want that battery block hanging at the bottom all the time. On your back, drilling up into the bottom of a desk, on a ladder drilling over your head, working in tight places...all great places for a big heavy drill with a big battery to go along with it....NOT!

If you don't earn a living building decks or something, get this M12 set. If you DO earn a living building decks or something daily, get the newest 18v system from Milwaukee or Dewalt.

Any other use case, you'll wish you had a smaller drill way more than you'll wish you had more power. Although meant for screws, this M12 impact will take off car lug nuts...they are not weak, in fact, they beat some competitors 18v stuff.

If I just need to do some minor drilling in concrete to put in a few tap con screws, would this hammer drill easily do the job?
Yes, it'll be fine. Just not as quick as some larger, more powerful options.

Noticed the page after adding to my cart with suggested add-ons had the 2-pack of 2.5Ah HO batteries for $99. Not a bad deal for extras

The hammer drill version is a little larger and a little heavier than the regular drill. Given that something this small isn't going to be the best for masonry drilling, and that a lot of people may have better hammer drills/SDS already, they may prefer to have the smaller and lighter regular drill over the hammer one.

I didn't think it was any longer any more? The weight is all in "light enough" to me anyway. Not worth the savings to downgrade to non hammer, imo.

If you can justify an SDS it's a largely pointless feature, but if you don't have/need an SDS, or don't always keep it handy, it's not worth the savings to downgrade to the non-hammer.

IIRC the difference between the hammer and non-hammer is about 2 ounces and 1/8" in length. It's a small difference, but not nothing and if someone has another way to make holes in brick/concrete/etc., they may not want that feature in their little compact drill. Luckily, they make both options so there's something for everyone.

Don't buy the ratchet. You need extended reach ratchet from milwaukee but of course that will never be on sale or included with any kit, Techtronic knows it's a hot item and everybody wants it.

When are all these tool manufacturers going to quit with the cordless impacts in nearly every kit. I've got several, all virtually new. Make a kit bundle with tiers of tools. Mix and match 3 from tier A and 2 from tier B + 3 x/ah batteries equals $xxx. I get what I need, no shitty lights or impacts to give my neighbor. Buy more = better price. Purchase batteries with tools = better price more batteries = lower price. Does something for the existing customer and is still just as attractive to new buyers.

I have the non-fuel 3/8" ratchet from a deal some 3 years ago and it is my goto tool for my car. you can lock it and use it manually to loosen and then use the motor. The same for tightening bolts. I also use it as a screwdirver with a 3/8" to 1/4" adapter + 1/4" hex shank adapter. The slow speed provides better control when working in engine bay and internal body parts.

You can also buy the kit with just the drill, impact, batteries, and charger, then get a tool free and return the free tool to get the kit much cheaper without the ratchet.
