I don't think the 5g version does mmwave. 5g is otherwise using THE SAME frequencies as 4g.

In other words, the same spectrum as LTE was in most cases. The millimeter wave 5g is still very limited.

All that said yeah the 5g version of this phone is better. This one's just ok and the price isn't bad.

Side note, they're huge phones. Literally about as much screen as a Nintendo switch. About as big a device minus the controllers.

I actually ran Wi-Fi networks back in those days and microwave ovens did emit enough broad spectrum interference to knock out some Wi-Fi devices in the 2.4 range. This was not from being on the same power circuit as you suggest. It was an observable effect that could be seen using a wireless spectrum analyzer.

I have the 5g one and if you are outside a lot you will not like it. The screen just doesn't get bright enough unless you get in the shade or cover it with your hand. I'm a home body so not a big deal but it's annoying at times. Best phone for the price imo

Not sure what this "'Activate Later" mean. I already have lines with TMobile, so does it mean I can just use this phone on one of the lines without adding a new line?

One thing to note is that this phone (and almost all the sub $200 phones it seems) doesn't have an eSIM.

I had a weird use case where we needed to quickly do an eSIM swap on US Mobile after a family member passed away and the cheapest unlocked phone with eSIM that you can buy locally is a Moto G 5G 2023 for $200 followed by a Pixel 6A for $350 (though refurbished Pixel 6As can be found under $200 if you can wait a bit for delivery).

Personally if I were looking for an Android phone to use, I think spending a bit more on a refurbished Pixel 6A makes sense.

I worked Satellite comms in the Military. One big (and very relevant difference) is the power those dishes use. I'm not saying cell signals have no effect, they likely do long-term.
People who refuse to believe that the electromagnetic spectrum can't be damaging, have maybe never used a microwave?
Because most people believe in whatever the government told them. So yeah cell signals are safe for humans.

5G has gone though safety tests. 5G radiation IS safe as long as you keep your 5G phone 8 inches away from your body at all times, which how the safety standards tests were conducted. At 8 inches you are within the safety standards.
Absolutely NO ONE holds a phone 8 inches away while using it. Do you even know how long 8 inches is?

It's the size of my Delightful dog's tail.

I press the phone directly to my ear like a regular person. And I'll continue to do so until they make a phone with a volume between impossible to hear and too loud.

So you are telling me that I am destroying my body by using this device like everyone else? Nice. That's like food that's only poison if you eat it.

I gotta go. the presidents calling.

Looks like the price has increased on both Amazon and Best Buy.
