Just sharing my experiences with Ring. We decided to upgrade our Ring Floodlight (original version) to the Plus. Went through three Plus because after the sun went down the floodlight would come on every 5 seconds. Called support and they suggested that if you order from Amazon, the stock sits in the warehouse for long periods of time so the capacitors are more prone to fail and according to his diagnosis the sensors were going crazy that's why the lights would come on for 5 seconds, turn off for 3 seconds and come back on throughout the night - regardless of the sensitivity settings. So followed his suggestions to order directly from Ring. Again, same issues of on , off, and on all night long. Returned all three Plus and reinstalled the original version. Now the issue occurs on the original version too - on, off, on all night long. Note, the original version was not doing this prior to us trying to upgrade to the Plus. We suspect it's a program issue from Ring. Don't know how to fix it but once we find a better product, we'll be switching away from Ring.

I had a bit of this problem with a new device. Under light settings I decreased the light sensitivity and it seemed to help. But sounds like you tried that already.

Just sharing my experiences with Ring. We decided to upgrade our Ring Floodlight (original version) to the Plus. My floodlights decided to stop connecting. They're connected to my wifi network, but on the app they say they're not connected. I keep trying everything to reconnect them on the app, but still don't work. I tried all their solutions and even some from Google. Very disappointed with Ring.

Yes, we tried everything Ring agent suggested and Googled. Nothing worked. Now, sometimes we don't even receive alerts when someone walks up our driveway all the way to the front door! And we have a Ring doorbell Pro. Two Ring products and zero alerts! No words for why it's happening now because before we decided to upgrade to the Plus, both Ring products worked ok.

Thats why we suspect that Ring's new software is causing all these issues that we're experiencing. We suspect that Ring does not update the software on the device unless you install it. How else would the original version start mimicking the issues of the Plus after we reinstalled it?

We're looking for new products with the following features:

HD vision that allows clear view of license plates for both day and night time (Ring provides grainy images even during the daytime and you can forget night vision)

Quality alerts of motion and people (no missed alerts or false alerts)

Recording of events

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues.
I purchased the pro floodlight and haven't had any issues with it staying on. Have you tried that version? There may be new sensors and firmware with it.

My experience has been similar. Last year I called and spoke with tech support about my lights coming on by themselves. I would turn the light off on the app, it would turn itself back on. They said they seen something wrong on their end and sent my a replacement. This was 6 months ago, my replacement unit is now doing the same thing. 🤷🏻 ♂️
