Just speculation, but Purina is a subsidiary of Nestle. A lot of hate for the Nestle conglomerate online, much founded in good reason.

The 30% brings it to the same price as petsmart but the 50% is pretty good. I literally just bought a bag for my dog like 15 minutes ago from petsmart. Might as well buy another bag to have.

Really damn good deal being $1/lb. It's usually $2/lb. Got two 35lb bags because my Rottweiler loves to eat. Max discount is $50, so $1.27/lb at $88.96 is still pretty damn good for 70lbs.

Does match the Alert I received. Alert said 65% but even selecting Auto Ship I only had a 50% off. Max allowed is $50 so I don't think that should effect the final balance. If the 50% discount was applied after the 5% for Auto Ship.

Lots of reviews say formulas changed in last couple of months, and people's pets won't eat new ones. I wonder if that explains why they are discounting heavy to clear the stock.

I don't think the formula changed in the past couple months. There was a slight change in 2020 where they also added probiotics. This food is never discounted this much. I've been buying it for the past 4 years and only heard of a formula change back in 2020, so I think this is more of 1800petmeds having a great coupon rather than them offloading this specific food brand. Otherwise we'd see the same discount at Petco and Petsmart.
