I mean the 970 EVO Plus was expected to start dropping soon because all the near maxed out speeds Gen 4 NVMe (980 Pro, SN850X, etc...) also dropped in price and so there was no point (or incentive) in getting a 970 EVO Plus for more than $0.03 per GB and at basically the same price as the 980 Pro or SN850X.
Just be patient I'm sure a deal like this will come soon on Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, etc...
