i went to my costco today looking for;

and they were still on a truck on their way.
btw, i bought the brown pair last time they sale
very happy with it, and the side pocket is deep
enough for most smartphones.
Additionally, although I didn't find anything wrong with them, the Kirkland Signature jeans received much criticism because of their "dad jeans" style. They're a relaxed fit and are alternately described as "boxy" or possibly "ugly." Again, YMMV.
Hopefully Costco has Kirkland jeans again at the future, because you're right, they were the best value 100% cotton denim jeans I could find as well, presuming you're OK with the style.

After researching, I found that Kirkland Signature Jeans are made by Levi Strauss & Co. If that is true, then I would compare them to my favorite Levi 540. They are relaxed-fit and feel like the same cotton density. JMHO
