I have this. It's "ok". I've used mine a few times and the plastic has already melted below the metal end. If using it for anything over 5 minutes, the metal end moves around a lot because the plastic gets soft and eventually melts where it meets the hot metal end

I've heard this a bunch. I wonder if they started using a different plastic.

Ive heard of this issue as well. I bought mine when they were first released and haven't had any issues with it at all. I do a pretty fair amount of soldering too. It's a time saver for me.

Sounds like the pinecil for $26 is probably a better choice for a soldering iron.

18V Milwaukee line is the best for professional use and I have all of the brands, but I keep buying 12V Milwaukee, and continue to be seriously disappointed. hard pass.

Ive used this to repair pinball machines for years now without issue. It has seen me through several playfield swaps and its fantastic for field repairs.

Maybe I just got lucky but mine still seems to be going strong, though I will be using this deal to get a second one because it breaking feels inevitable..

This an excellent soldering iron for me. Been using it for about 5 months nearly every day. It's on for 10-30 min per session several times a day. It is ready to use in less than a min. Sorry for those who been unlucky with this one.

I love this tool. It's not the one size fits all for soldering things, but that's ok. I used it for a auto wiring harness and to me it paid it's self off in that one project. If mine broke I would buy another one.
