Just because a flight lands in San Francisco, doesn't mean you have to stay in SF. The Bay Area has a 100 mile radius and there is a lot to see and do outside the city of SF. Come visit the Bay Area, we'd love to have you here. Enjoy the ocean, take a hike through the redwood forests, drive down HWY 1 to Big Sur, eat some good food, enjoy some wine, or go to a cafe. It's okay to hate on SF, most of the people in the Bay Area don't mind because most of us are visitors like you

I only ever fly Delta and FYI their basic economy tickets are non changable and non refundable. I took a look at the dates and a Main Cabin ticket for the same dates is only like $50 more and that allows you to choose a seat, board earlier, and get credit for a future flight if you cancel.

Lots of good and bad. I live in SF and can confirm tons of tents, drugs, and crazy people in the more populated areas. They won't bother you or harass you. They may have addiction, mental health, and/or housing issues, but they're actually really fun to talk to. Lots of fun things to do and good things to eat. But If you plan on traveling here, NEVER LEAVE YOUR BELONGINGS IN THE CAR. It takes them less than 1 minute to break your window and take your stuff. I intentionally don't tint my windows so they can visibly see I don't have anything. You don't see any police around but it's still pretty safe. Just be careful of your surroundings since crime can happen anywhere.

No, that $200 is just for accidentals. However, there is a way to trigger that credit using Delta GC. Look it up

Yes, Newark is the largest city in NJ. Its a hellhole from time to time but still better than San Fran

Skip Napa/Sonoma where the fake and pretentious bay area wine snobs go. Instead go to Amador, El Dorado, or Placer Counties where much of the award winning wines come from with no tasting fee, talk to the owner or wine maker, and zero traffic issues. Sorry Napa, the thrill is gone (for years).

The San Francisco airport isn't even in San Francisco. It's in South San Francisco, which is a completely different city in a different county. There are actually two cities in-between San Francisco and South San Francisco. And, if any of you took the time to Google that, you would know that. Also, this is a flight from San Francisco to New York. Not the other way around.
