Hands down the absolute WORST streaming device I have ever purchased... And I've tried them all! This thing has constant reboots out of nowhere and TiVo has done nothing over the years to fix it.

This is a terrible tv stick - crashes all the time - tivo bloatware you cant remove - a stupid remote with a bunch of numbers on it you'll never use... It was effectively EOL'd in 2021...

Pick up the onn 4k at walmart - https://www.walmart.com/ip/onn-Go...2835618394 for $20 (everyday price) - it is native android, no tivo crap - and a much better remote/device/experience.

yes. After updates, you must go into settings and disable a TON of Tivo apps and services to make it usable. One service can no longer connect and causes crashing, which requires it to be disabled.

Contrary to the others, I've had one of these since early 2022 and it's been great. One of the few affordable devices that support Dolby Vision, which is the primary reason why I bought it. Follow the steps to debloat [tivocommunity.com] and remove all of the Tivo stuff, and it works just like a vanilla android TV box.

I think we're in the minority from what I've heard, but honestly I love this thing. Best remote out there, and it works great. Can remap the buttons too. Works fast and is my go-to travel streamer. Picked them up for $5.99 each on clearance at Wal-mart a year ago.

I have the Onn puck, SHIELD, Fire 4k/Max, and this one. For a mini streamer, it's my favorite.

This thread made me pull mine out of the junk box. I figured I might try this debloating procedure. I was pleasantly surprised after I was done.

I however quickly remembered why it is in the junk box.. Storage space. After I did a fresh install and all my apps, I am under .8gb free god darn it! ARG... Plex and Kodi are 2gb alone of the 4.5 free at the start. Kiss another 1gb away for operating/upgrade space and you are limited. IDK I might play with it some more but..

Sad what has become of Tivo. I used to love my Tivo DVR. It's not even hooked anymore.

TiVo dvr recording was great, then it somehow stopped working or we stopped using it once Comcast boxes offered recording functionality. I remember TiVo dvr being a hassle to install when I first got it

Same! I have no idea what everyone is talking about…I've been using this thing solely as my main streaming device on a primary living room TV and it's been great! The spare USB-C port is great!

The Tivo Stream has always been super reliable and great as a casting device too so I can throw up a video or movie to the projector.

Dude..it has a USB-C port! One of the few streamers to have one. Just connect either a converter and plug in a USB drive to expand the storage, or use an old-skool USB OTG splitter to add a USB stick.

I have one and it has worked fine. Literally used it today. But at this point it's no longer upgradable. If this was $10, sure but you can get better devices at this price.

The TiVo 4K streamer has a couple of significant advantages over the new onn 4K Google TV: a dedicated USB-C port and native support for NTFS external flash drives. I'm not crazy about the UI or remote, but having an additional USB port and NTFS support tips the balance in TiVo's favor.
