Just a note: don't get this if you aren't comfortable using a drill. Many of the reviews mention that some of the drill holes are missing and that you may need to make your own.

Any recommendations on one of these without the desktop? I want to make a black walnut desktop but want an adjustable base.

Something that can manage a decent amount of weight.
