Im one of the beta users for PS5 software upgrades, and this was in the last log for the new system upgrade. "
• You can now use an M.2 SSD with a maximum capacity of 8 TB to expand storage space on your PS5."

This is the sign Black Friday will be flooded with PS5 deals.

No chance this is going front page - none at all

While there have been rumors of a PS5 Slim (or pro or whatever), I highly recommend getting this deal if you've been waiting on one. While we MIGHT see the PS5 for $399.99 on BF, IMHO it will be $449.99 with maybe a free game (or controller) thrown in at best.

DualSense is also on sale for $50 during that time.

Even if it is, Black Friday is still almost 4 months away. You're missing out on all that play time for potentially $28 in savings.
Exactly. I have the Spider-Man special edition bundle on preorder because I'm interested in playing that game. If I can snag this deal I'll cancel that one since it'll total up cheaper. But I'm not gonna delay doing something I'm interested in for the sake of $20 or so.

What is a red card? And can they price match this deal?
Quote from AmusedScent305 :
Red Card is Target's store credit card.

You'd have to check terms at whatever store you're trying to get price-matched: some specifically exclude sale items, even if they're advertised. Or if they match, they might only do it once the sale price actually begins.
Quote from LivelyMallard374 :
Thank you Amused. But, with the reloadable Account card works the deal? This isn't a credit card is it?
Quote from rah10 :
The redcard is an actual Target Credit Card you must sign and get approved for NOT a reloadable card.
Quote from sabin :
Do I need the REDCard credit card? Or can I use one of those top up REDcards instead?
The Target Red card is NOT just a credit card. You can also get a Target Red "Debit" card which connects to your bank account and works just like a normal debit card does. 5% off every purchase. No credit card bs to deal with.

"PC destroys it. Doesn't have limited expansion options. Doesn't charge for online multiplayer. Has more options for input devices. Everyone needs one and it can do a million things. Blah blah blah." - Didn't you say something similar in the Xbox thread when you were taking a dump on the Series X?
He said "Console".... PC will always be superior, but not everyone is going to dump 3K into a top of the line gaming machine.....like me.

Xbox has by far the weakest first party lineup of the 3 consoles. And despite its GPU having 2 more t-flops than the PS5 it is still getting the worst performing version of multiplats most of the time.

You can prefer Xbox if you want, but it's not doing better than PS5 at anything.
I owned both the Series X and PS5 and in the end I've stuck with PC, because that has the games I want to play on it. I don't care about whatever platform has the "best" first-party lineup, because I play what I want to play - not what everyone else likes.

Would love to have this conversation with you, but you've shown that when you get asked tough questions to back up your point you just end up ignoring those and eventually ghosting the thread. Peace

Now the Xbox X is 400 for college students and teachers, I just feel hard to make a decision to buy which one, anybody can give me some suggestions?
If you want the best exclusive games in the market, hands down the PS5 is the better choice.

Quote from lennonst :
You can go from sony where there's like 5 games worth playing to Microsoft where there is zero. You'll save tons on the software side if you go Microsoft, great suggestion.
Iagree

Xbox for sure
So you would buy a console based off of looks over its performance? LOL
Ill stick with the better exclusives. Every electronic I own is a "black box", so I dont need another. Love having something unique that compliments my white Oculus.

That's honestly a good question. I haven't seen anything in regards to a storage upgrade in any of the various rumors.

My guess would be no (staying at 1tb) in order to keep the cost down. I think Sony really wants to hit that $399 price point with one SKU (which will reduce manufacturing costs), with the option of an expandable disc drive as a seperate accessory. If that is in fact Sony's intentions, then there is no way they double the storage to 2tb.

By doing this they would undercut the XBSX by $100 going into the 2nd half of the generation while already holding an almost 2:1 lead in console hardware sales over Xbox.

I mean this is what I would do as a business strategy and I'm just an idiot on SD's.

Yeah, I preordered the Spider-Man special edition console at Best Buy too. I wasn't really planning on buying a PS5 but I figure either I'll keep that and have (what I think) is a cool console and controller, or I'll sell it for a bit more than I paid and get one of these deals coming up. Thought this deal for $427 for the disc version is a pretty dang tempting offer. I own so many PS4 games digitally and without a PS4 or 5 I can't play any of them. And for better or worse, PS has the best exclusives and first party games. I've always felt that while the raw power of the PS5 may not match the Series X, Sony knows how to optimize their games much more effectively. Any time you put Windows code in any form on a computer, you're gonna take an off-the-top performance hit. Xbox optimizations are a joke.

I have a good rig (3080/5800x) along with a PS5 and a Switch so I play everything that comes out. If someone has the money to spend on a PC I agree it's the best gaming platform overall, but it's also far from hassle free.

For consoles I would recommend someone a PS5 over an Xbox in a heartbeat. And then the Switch just makes the most logical sense for someone looking for a side piece.

Even if you don't have a PC you don't miss out on much if you own a PS5 + Switch. Mainly just future Bethesda games and some early access indies.

I also have a ton of digital ps4 games. I'm tempted to finally buy a ps5, have the digital Xbox and an oled switch but I haven't found many games I enjoy.

That's why I have stuck with my ps4 this long. There's games I enjoy on it but nothing I was $400+ interested in looking a bit better and no exclusives I couldn't wait on. Deathloop interested immediate but not enough. But Spider-Man was the whole reason I bought a ps4 pro so I guess I've got a tradition now.

+1 to that. got a PC because there were some mouse and keyboard games I wanted to play last summer. Had 2 faulty 3080's already and I got sick of dealing with it. Now my kids use it to play minecraft and i'm back on console.
