The first time you're in an area with no cell reception and you get notified that you're off the trail, it has paid for itself and then some. Offline maps are another fantastic feature. To me, it's all about making sure my hike is enjoyable and SAFE.

I really like having the paid version. It's helped me save notes and make lists for specific types of hikes: with doggo, with truck (4x4) etc. Can't remember what other features the paid version includes, but as a casual hiker wanting to be more outdoors, it's helped motivate and inspire me some more.
