Walmart has iPhone SE 3rd Gen 64 GB on sale for $149.99, valid with Simple Mobile, Straight Talk and Walmart Family Mobile. Ideal for trade in for iPhone 15 to be announced on Sept 13.
For Walmart Family Mobile, 64GB available in Midnight color only:

For Simple Mobile, 64GB available in Midnight and Red:

Please note that if you're trying to ship this to a sales-tax free state, your order will be immediately cancelled. It has a quantity limit of 2, so if your second order gets cancelled, your future orders will be immediately cancelled for exceeding the quantity limit. You may try to check out using a new account and preferably using pick up. (I haven't tested it.)

Not true about not shipping to tax free states - mine was shipped to Oregon which is a sales tax free state.

If you're wondering why Verizon needs this permission in the first place, it dates back to the FCC's 2008 auction of 700MHz spectrum, which saw Verizon come away with the prized "C block." The rules of that transaction required Verizon to unlock the phones it sold for use on any carrier that devices could support.
By giving Verizon the thumbs-up for its limited waiver from the C block rules, the FCC is mandating that Verizon automatically unlock phones after 60 days — even for devices that are still on payment plans and even if a customer doesn't specifically request it

If you haven't purchased already I'd def browse around on the product page for a couple minutes, you should get a $30 offer in a couple hrs like I did.
Activated the provided ST sim through the Tracfone without issues - did the $15 plan with 2GB of data, it came to $10 for the first month if I enabled auto-reload. Texted 611611 and got an unlock date of 10/09/2023, then went onto the Tracfone website and turned off the auto-reload.
I'll try to post an update around 10/09 to confirm whether it actually unlocked, but so far so good. Thanks all for the guidance in this thread.

Went to Tracfone website, clicked on Activate tab first. Followed the prompts. Was sure to select new phone and not BYOP. Prompted me to choose a plan, then continued with the activation. When all was done I got a text directing me to their activation policy, which was as expected. After an hour or so 611611 sent me a text to try texting Usage to check on my account. I texted Unlock and it responded with a date 60 days from now.
Seamless. Thanks to all.

I put the provided SIM in the phone and set up/registered the phone with Apple.
I went to the TracFone web site, selected Activate.
Selected New Phone.
Selected I want a new number and entered my zip code.
Selected I want to use the physical SIM card.
Entered the IMEI.
I chose the $15 talk/text (no data) plan with auto pay so it's $10 per month. Then I checked out (you will create an account here). Done!
I texted Unlock to 611611 - Received reply - Great news!!! Your device will be automatically unlocked on 10-09-2023
