Buying ssds is catching a falling knife. I know I've bought several in the last few years
Component prices have bottomed out so we may be seeing the bottom soon in terms of SSD pricing.

Of course prices will continue to fall overtime as the technology continues to get cheaper but the steep decline we've seen over the last year should be coming to an end. For now.

Yup. Just need to get an m.2 enclosure with a USB port and put the m.2 inside it. Then you can plug it into a computer via USB.

Lemorele M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure Tool Free USB C External PCIe B+M/M-Key Hard Drive Enclosure 10Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 M.2 Reader Support Max 2TB w/UASP Trim, for 2230/2242 /2260/2280 SSDs, Aluminum https://a.co/d/7mli55P

Something like this. Note I'm not recommending this one per se, I just linked ya the first one on Amazon after a search for what you need. I don't know this brand and I encourage you to look at reviews before you buy one.

That one actually looks fairly decent especially with 20% off coupon if anyone could confirm what chipset it uses or that it works under Linux.

I have purchased and use this one under Linux: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BJ24GHC7

Thanks.

With the PCI adapter & this driver, is it good for gaming compare to the 7200RPM HDD?

Thank you.

These adapters all come with a male usb-c connector to plug into pc so make sure you grab a female usb-c to USB-A adapter to plug into pc's that have the regular usb 3.x ports and not a usb-c. These were recently on frontpage but the sale is now OVER. I link them only so you can see the picture of what I'm talking about so you can find a similar deal. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LF72431

This is M450, how is it different from M470?
The M470 has a 1400MB/s faster sequential read speed 5000MB/s vs 3600MB/s

It also has an SSD DRAM cache vs while the 450 has none

Other differences but those standout for me, but ultimately it depends upon your use profile.

470 was $60 for 2TB, but those sold out in a few minutes. Not bad for this price, but waiting game on their new 4TB 480 Pro.
