Be aware that this is a blade-on-right saw.

Can a metal cutting circular saw be primarily used for wood projects?

What is the difference?

You want to use a metal cutting saw primarily for woodworking? You're looking at the wrong saw.

It might technically do the job, but metal cutting saws are lower rpm and geared for torque. This saw runs ~2,000 RPM slower than a conventional circular saw.. which will translate to poor cutting performance in wood.
