I don't think this has any batteries to charge.

I would recommend this for 2d games like platformers. Using this for battle network collection and had no issues with dpad.

Adds a bit of grip, so it is easier to hold. Always hated the feel of joycons, as they're missing dpad and comfort.

I've seen it on sale for under $40. Might get a better deal on ebay.

can these be charged without connecting it back on the screen? are there any controllers that can be charged separately, im worried that constantly connecting and disconnecting the controllers will eventually break something

Zelda or something where you kind of want the rumble and amiibos these are switchable but my son swears by these for his switch especially for fighting games.

Correct. These only function in hand-held mode; they are powered solely by the console.

I have one of the regular/chunkier ones they sell and absolutely LOVE it compared to the standard joycons. I don't recall when the last time I even used my joycons was. I'll be grabbing this for sure to compare.

I also have the chunky ones but these do look interesting, I was unable to play the switch with regular joy cons because I have larger hands. Highly recommend for anyone experiencing the same issue.

I bought these recently. They really make playing longer sessions on the switch much more tolerable, especially if you like to play fighting games. The analog sticks have a good feel, and the buttons have slightly mushier feel but are quieter than OG joy cons. The controls are more spread out since you're using this in handheld mode only.

The only con I see other than what is mentioned in the box is that sometimes the left joycon is off center when the switch wakes up. I have to physically disconnect it and reconnect it, but that isn't a big deal either since it takes only a second.

Worth every penny.

Before paying the additional money for these, I'd recommend attempting a case like this. Much more comfortable for your hands than the standard switch, and cheaper than the Hori.

Can't comment on these as I don't own these , but I recently brought the Nyxi Hyperions. Those have gyro and batteries. And can work individually and in handheld. They also come with a middle grip to turn into a pro controller. Much better value imo.

I have the pro version, this is a newer model. The pros feel great, but they're pretty chunky and don't fit in an OLED dock.
