I received this as a gift. It is nice but be warned that brush heads are hard to find (don't expect Costco to carry them) and are very expensive, like 4 for $34 on Amazon.

Use SCHOOL20 for 20% off instead plus stack with $20 oral b clipped coupon and $20 walgreens cash you earned during the last week walgreens marathon, making it $44 plus tax. Also don't forget cashback from your best cashback site and use a credit card that gives you 5% cashback on top.

Sam's has them on sale from time to time. The brush head price is the biggest issue (besides their increased size). These are awesome toothbrushes.

Edit: they're on sale currently

Serious Question. My wife and and I both have the 8000 series and after your are done brushing and rinse it out, while drying on the charger it gets a lot of nasty toothpaste build up that runs down to the base of the tooth brush and builds up on the charger. Anyone know if this does it too?
Every time you brush you should pull of the head and rinse it and the toothbrush handle off. There should be no toothpaste residue. You will get deposits of whatever minerals are in your water unless you dry it off with a towel. The only way to avoid that would be to use distilled water.

This is true of all electric toothbrushes.

All the cheaper ones have the pressure indicator
Most of the cheap ones only tell you if you're pressing too hard, or shut off if you are. This one also tells you if you're pressing too softly.

The toothbrush also doesn't rely solely only rotation like the cheap ones. I mentioned that in my previous comment and so have other people.

It comes from inside the head after rinsing it. I don't pull it off and rinse each time, guess that could solve it but seems excessive. It basically builds up like toothpaste after hardens over a couple weeks.

They operate totally different. IO vibrates the brush head vs old style oral b which rotates the brush head. I purchased similar model a while ago for twice more and still think its worth it
That's not true at all. The IO still rotates. It uses a magnetic connection to the head instead of a crank.

It rotates. Oral-B would never switch to vibration because independent studies have shown that rotating heads clean better. This is one of the main reasons I switched from Sonicare to Oral-B.

Since the IO brush head vibrates, doesn't that mean that it's the same as sonicare now ?
The heads on IO brushes rotate, not vibrate.

Seems like this is the Nespresso Vertuo of Oral-B brushes. Some patents must have expired, tons of knock-off brushes for the original version appearing on Amazon.
It's more that Chinese knockoffs don't care about patents. The reason there are more for the old head style is they've been around longer. The IO brushes are still less than two years old. Will take some time for the knockoffs to be developed and become popular enough to make it worth it. There are already some that have popped up though.

No they cannot "add coupons manually" where did you get this false info from
Yes they just add $20 rewards to your account for the issue. Plenty of my friends had it done already. Ain't nothing false about that. Btw mines shipped and also got an additional $17 walgreens cash for the purchase as I had a coupon for $7 walgreens cash for $22 purchase which stacked with get $10 walgreens cash for $30 PG purchase at walgreens.

So you are saying OralB IO is like Philips Sonicare... OK, they are different, not better. It just your personal preference... I like the OralB rotating brush and my wife like the Sonicare. Saying one is better than the other is pure opinion bias and/or ignorance since the science has not proven one is better than the other, they are the same and just like anything else, its just a tool, the user has just as much impact on its effectiveness as the tool.
