I bought one of these (probably the previous generation) back in 2017. I don't use it frequently (maybe 2-4 times a year), but it has never failed to get the job done and I'm quite surprised the battery is still going strong.

I'm a big Milwaukee guy, but I can't justify throwing $150+ at their hedge trimmer when this still does the job and only cost me $45 as a complete kit.

I have a 24 inch battery powered hedge trimmer. I use it twice a year. One in May and one in my last hedge trim. I paid $25 for it. It has been working very well to trim the hedges and the rose shrubs. Power is good and lasts quite long. Not sure I would be inclined to pay $50+ for such usage.

Hmmm, just upgraded my tools to newer Ryobi and needed a new hedge trimmer. Was looking to stay with Ryobi, but this appears to have the same battery as my string trimmer and is currently much cheaper, hmmm....
I am in the same boat

I have the DeWalt, it's fantastic. If black 'n yellow is how you roll, like me.

They sell adapters if needed. I have Milwaukee everything but I used the hedge trimmer 1 or 2 times a year. I'd rather buy this for $53 and get a $15 adapter if need be to use my Milwaukee 8 amp batteries than spend $175 on a bare Milwaukee hedge trimmer. I'll see how this battery does tho first

I bought this adapter to use my Ridgid 4ah battery.

Haven't received it yet. I did look up the 18v vs 20v max different. Found that it is a marking gimmick. Both are the same voltage when fully charged.

I have both the B&D and Ryobi trimmers. They both work well. After a few years my 4AH B&D battery stopped working. Replacement B&D batteries were hard to find and pricey. I switched to Ryobi and now have several several batteries available. Home Depot often has very good sales on Ryobi tools and batteries. B&D seems to have been abandoned and there isn't much out there anymore.

Same exact situation except I'm on DeWalt batteries for most of my tools. I guess I'm willing to let my weed eater and hedge trimmer be on a different system because they get the job done, and a DeWalt hedge trimmer is like $145 by itself with no battery.
