I bought one of these (probably the previous generation) back in 2017. I don't use it frequently (maybe 2-4 times a year), but it has never failed to get the job done and I'm quite surprised the battery is still going strong.

I'm a big Milwaukee guy, but I can't justify throwing $150+ at their hedge trimmer when this still does the job and only cost me $45 as a complete kit.

I purchased this last week for $63 (before taxes) as a Slickdeal but not as much a Slickdeal. I called Amazon and received an $10 Promotional Certificate for the difference to avoid returning it.

Same, except I noticed it was $56.92 yesterday and contacted them yesterday.

They said they couldn't give me the difference and that I should return it and buy it again. I told them if it was easier for them to do that then I would, then the rep asked to wait a moment to speak with their manager and then said they would give me a credit or refund to my card.

If this drops any more I might just have to grab a second for the spare battery.

Hmmm, just upgraded my tools to newer Ryobi and needed a new hedge trimmer. Was looking to stay with Ryobi, but this appears to have the same battery as my string trimmer and is currently much cheaper, hmmm....

No longer use the AC trimmer, this works great. I have B&D and Ryobi batteries, and have had this trimmer for around 5 years.

I used to have all cordless yard tools black decker but since their battery platform is horrible I have began converting over to Ryobi. Black Decker should offer various amp hour batteries but they only have the 2ah that comes with the tools. They make a 4ah that's sold currently on Amazon for $82. I have never seen this battery included I with any of their tools however. I have various amp hour Ryobi batteries and just purchased their pole saw and chainsaw on Direct Tools a few weeks ago. Waiting for the Ryobi weed trimmer and hedger to go back on sale at DT.

Six years ago, I bought a similar B&D weed trimmer, with 4ah battery for $45. It does make a big difference over the 1.5 or 2ah battery.

I was thinking the same thing- Everything I own now and purchase is Ryobi, but I have a B&D drill with that same battery... and the price is right.

I have a 22 in corded version and the build quality and blade longevity are not great. Gets dull pretty quick and rattles like crazy. B&D pretty cheaply made.
