For comparison, I picked up a 22" Ryobi hedge trimmer with 2x 4aH batteries and a fast charger for $79 with the end of Ryobi Days promo at Home Depot. They had the 2x 4aH battery + charger with free tool promo for $79 at many stores.

Battery life on this is terrible. I recommend other brands with bigger battery platforms. B&d is not the same as they used to be once upon a time.

I've used the Bauer one from HF and it worked well for me. Keep the blades lubricated and try not to use brute strength with it.

I have this and have had no issues with it. 1.5ah is a little low. Most of my batteries are 2ah. If you have other black and decker gear it's worth a buy.

I love people complaining about battery life. You have a tool that is designed to cut multiple branches at once what ammounts to 4AA batteries in a 1.5ah package.

I have this tool and used it for 5 years now without any issues. Works great on small branches and trees to clean them up. Don't even remember last time i lubricated the blades. As long as you don't push it to it's max of 3/4 cut thickness it does great. I use this with 6ah aftermarket Black and Decker batteries as well when i need longer run time without any issues.
