The battery life is short at 5 hours because they are a nice small size. The case can recharge them five times and it takes like 25 minutes to charge from 0%-80%. I have had the same pair for a couple years and use them for at least 4 hours a day on average.

Good fit in the ears, good sound quality, but battery life is a bit poor. Lasts about 4 hours for me.

Since this is Google a series and not their premium I always wonder how these compared to the often $10 jlab air pop earbuds?
Not even a close comparison. Google buds come with full features. For example, it can read incoming text messages for you so you don't even need to pull your phone out to read.

Although text reading is cool, not sure it works with all phones or that other earbuds can't do this too. So please gimme me more features to justify paying $50 more since it is "not even close" shouldn't be to hard right? Remember these aren't the pixel pro series of earbuds.

I have these - even with the largest tips they fall out. Anyone with a rec for buds that have full stabilizers (not partial like these), similar to some Jabra products?

reviews are decent. if you aren't concerned with Google branding, Amazon's echo buds are $10 cheaper, and have similar battery life: https://www.amazon.com/All-new-Ec...09JVG3TWX/
Do they work with the pixel 6a. I can't get my Samsung buds to connect to them for some reason.

Are they any good?
I have gone through a number of other TWS earbuds testing to see what I liked - all of the more well-known brands (Jabra, Bose, Samsung, Anker). I settled on the Samsung Buds+ a couple of years ago for the features, sound quality and battery life. I also tried the Samsung Buds Live which hurt my ears.

I really like the sound quality, battery life and other features of the Buds+. However, I had a Google Store credit of $100 so when these went on sale for $90 in March, I grabbed a pair for free.

Pros:
* Premium feel, including a good weight to the charging case.
* Very comfortable. I can wear these a long time with no issues.
* Easy pair with Pixel phone. Even the initial setup is super fast. I can't speak for any other mobile device, but these also pair instantly with my Windows laptop.
* Charge quickly.
* Touch works well, rarely have an accidental touch.
* Microphones work excellent, even while using just one earbud.
* USB-C port on charging case.

Cons:
* Don't get ultra-loud for those wanting to use these in very noisy environments such as doing yardwork.
* Compared to Buds+, lacking bass.
* No wireless charging which seems unacceptable at the standard price.
* Only one touch zone for tap controls.
* Can't remove wingtips.
* Sound quality only so-so.

For their regular price of $100, there's not a lot of reasons to buy these vs the Buds+. For $60, I think there are a handful of options that will all have some caveats to consider.

Part of research is asking consumers who have first hand experience with the products, it was definitely a question because while researching they seem to be very similar battery life, sound quality and size so i was wondering if anyone could point out more reasons to pay more, but I guess I did prove a point that people come on here and spout off their opinions with phrases like "not even close" but when pressed can't back it up. In short Google has given them away free so I'll just wait until they do that again, then I'll test the products side by side, so that I can give a useful response in similar SD threads.

Solid deal for the price. Sound is decent, very comfortable, touch controls work fine and never issues with pairing or switching devices.

Only downside is battery life - it really is under 3 hours if you're on calls. The case charges them up quickly but might be a sticking point if you're making long calls or have several hours of meetings a day.

Where is the other part? You don't seem to have done that. There are lots of review sources online that you could have read more in depth to understand "actual and technical differences" rather than what you describe to be anecdotal. At the end of the day, price point is completely subjective. For example, text reading would have different values to people who text a lot or are often in environment where they can't look at their phone easily vs people in different situations. There's no point in trying to find some kind of universal value points. So either stick to what you think/believe or hit up some more knowledge base and decide for yourself.

Unrelated topic, but for those who have the pro version; anyone have issues with right ear bud draining battery quickly vs left?

I've got these and really like them. Sounds good and I don't use them long enough in a single session to complain about battery life.

Noticed that the Pros are on sale for $140. Was going to pick those up as I think the ANC would be great on planes. I have a $100 credit from a pixel purchase but just noticed that the promo code only works on the regular price. So $140 cash and keep the $100 promo for future or $100 and forfeit the $100 code. Sucks

I just bought a $100 pair of ear buds and they last 4 hours. Really annoying on a long flight especially since phones and tablets today don't have headphone jacks. So I need a second pair of ear buds for longer use. How stupid is that? Or if I could find one set of ear buds that last 8 hours I'd be all set. Any suggestions?
