Most Pilot pens are made in Japan and they are high quality.
Speaking of Sharpie, they are owned by Newell. Newell acquired Rotring a few years ago and the made in Germany mechanical pencils are now made in Japan.

This is going to sound stupid but these are by far my favorite pens. I literally end up buying my own pens for work because I like these and the way they write and my office won't order them.

Yes, I 100% believe a survey conducted by PaperMate, who manufactures pens. They absolutely have no motivation to make up facts about needing more pens.

And I can say with 100% accuracy that I have never stolen a co-workers pen, because I hate pens. I don't think anyone has stolen any of my mechanical pencils, because they hate pencils. It's a win-win.

My pens get used by countless strangers (yes, sani-wiped before and after) with different writing styles, left/right-handed, multiple surfaces, paper quality, etc. These have been head and shoulders better than anything else I've tried, and I've tried just about all of the popular brands and models. Super smooth, no blots, don't bleed through, they really make your signature pop. Downside for me is that I have to give so many away as my signers fall in love with them.

I have all three of those sizes of the same pen as well. I find myself using the 0.5 the most, but like the colored offerings of the 0.7. And like you, come time for some detailed notes, it is 0.3 to the rescue.
