I know it's slickdeals, but is $4 really that important here? If you like Souls games or have an interest in getting into them then it's well worth $29. If you don't like these kinds of games then it doesn't matter if it's $29 or 29 cents it's still not going to be for you.
Yeah. It's still the same basic combat that was in the PS3 version, but the animations and graphics are better than any other FS game including Elden Ring.
I was blown away when I first played the remake. Bolataria is amazing lookin. And it's running 60fps! I don't know how they did this.
Plenty of games were longing than an hour. Super Mario Bros 3, without the whistles, for example.
I don't know if you have noticed, but people are really lazy, nowadays. A challenge requires persistence and hard work.
Fromsoft games arn't really hard once you figure them out. They just seem hard at the surface for newbies, but once you get the mechanics down, they are really simple.
It's like, you put some effort into something, you realized it's easy. That's how FromSoft games are. Genius gameplay design I'd say.
If you are new to Souls games don't be surprised if you are very frustrated the first 10 hours of playing this. Try to push through and learn the mechanics (watch a youtube video if you need to about rolling, blocking, parrying, etc). Once you get the gist of these games they often become favorites and there is a huge library of games to try.
I have to admit, I was dead wrong about souls games. I tried to Dark Souls Remastered on PS4 and hated it after the first 30 min. But I forced myself to play Elden Ring and eventually put over 100 hours into it. I definitely figured out the mechanics and now I really like the series.
If I could only choose one, should I play Demon Souls or Elden Ring?
Good question, I started out with Elden Ring and I would probably recommend starting with Elden Ring. I feel like Elden Ring is a little more forgiving for beginners, they both have very high learning curves for newcomers but once you learn the basics (which can take quite a while) they will translate to all of the other Souls games for the most part.
How easy is this game compared to other souls and bloodborne?
Don't mind dying a few times in a row but don't have time to die 100x before pushing through. Thanks
I would say this is the hardest out of all the souls games, giving that this came out before Dark Souls and set the bar.
I remember getting this as a birthday gift back in the early PS3 days. I thought the concept was cool and FromSoftware was introducing a different style of gameplay compared to what they did in the past.
And let me tell you something…out of all the souls games, and out of any game…this was the game where I wanted to snap the disc in half. I got so frustrated with dying so much. There wasn't a game like this on the PS3 back then. It did give me a sense of accomplishment as I played through. My biggest regret was not finishing it back then. I tossed it aside to play other games. It is a beautiful game.

Demons Souls looks better than Elden Ring without mods. Not to say Elden Ring looks bad, but DS just looks absolutely amazing.
