Kinda new to the SSD game but are these from Crucial.com good prices for non-heatsinks?

If this is going to be a D drive that holds games or working files for audio/video editing. Is the P3 OK for that or spend extra for the P3 Plus?

I think it's fine. For editing audio and video files I'd spend more but it's fine technically.

I bought the P3 1TB a few months ago for $60. I specifically got this over some faster drives to go in my laptop under the thought that I didn't want to worry about heatsinks, generated heat or potential throttling. It's still plenty fast for my needs, though YMMV.

P3 Plus is competitive with the P41 Plus which has been hovering around $70 for the 2TB, both QLC drives. The P3 has the same hardware as the P3 Plus, just capped at PCIe 3.0 speeds and is a more efficient drive.

This will never be a deal when MU was selling the P5 Plus 1TB for $29.
