Looks like no from multiple Amazon answers. Because of the version.

Do these work in an external case? I tried a Samsung drive in my case and it didn't work but my old micron SSD works fine.

google "YMTC", and you may find the answer. Of course, there are other reasons. you'll have your own answer.

I see 5% for Gas and Digital wallet. Not sure whether I am missing something. Thanks

Just want to add -- even though a PS5 requires PCI-4, this is more than adequate for PC. Even a SATA SSD is enough for 99% of games (even if they're PC ports of PS5 games).

I've been running a 1TB 970 EVO Plus for years as my game drive and OS drive. I also have SATA SSDs for games. There's basically zero difference in loading times.

Tl;Dr -- PCI-E 3 drives are more than enough for 99% of people. It's worth the price discount over an equivalent PCI-4 drive if you don't need the extreme speeds (which don't make a difference for game loading).
