I got a hand me down SodaStream without the bottle. it works with a plastic Arizona 20 Fl. Oz. iced tea bottle. lol. I'm sure there are other bottles that will fit just fine. Just through it out there if u don't want to pay.

Is the Lid also dishwasher safe? I have had issues where the lid catches gunk and hard to remove. Bottles are handwash and not a big deal as I also limit it to water. Nothing else.

Agreed. And these bottles are made to be repeatedly pressurized. They have an expiration date. Let el cheapo using Arizona Tea bottles learn the hard way. 😂

It will work until it cracks or bursts. There's a reason these bottles come with an expiry date.

Sodastream's website doesn't specifically say if the lids are dishwasher safe, but I have several of their dishwasher safe bottles and I've been putting both the bottles and the lids through the dishwasher for months and haven't noticed any issues.

I built my own carbonator using a 20lb CO2 canister and pressure regulator. I have refilled the cheap Polar seltzer bottles to 45psi (considerably higher than sodastream) literally hundreds of times. No explosions.
