These things are absolutely worth it!! I've used the standard 1L bottles for years. However you generally don't drink 1L worth of water in one sitting. The problem is if you drink half the bottle and cap it, just like any soda, now it will go flat due to the empty space in the bottle.
The solution? Use smaller single serve size bottles like this!
I was gonna say the same. Dry ice ain't too expensive at my Kroger. Like…less than $2/lb and I only need 14.5oz.
I've filled 20-30 co2 tanks now, let me say, it's a MAJOR pain to do so. The opening in the bottle is very small, so unless you have pellets that are smaller than the opening, it's a lot of time and work to get done. If you get a block of dry ice, or the pellets are to big, you will have to buy approximately twice the dry ice in weight per bottle due to evaporation.
Big co2 tanks are absolutely the way to go and in the end, the cheapest and most efficient method.
