FYI. I got this exact model from Amazon.com and the filter didn't fit the valve correctly. I bought a replacement filter and that also had same issue. Water passed through the gaps and poured down in few seconds without any filtration. I called the manufacturer and made the complaint, provided proof of purchase. They refunded me through check and asked me to discard the filter.

It might be from a defective batch. But please make sure water is not leaking through sides of the filter.
Are you sure you put it in correctly and the grooves lined up? I had the same problem at first but it was because I put it in incorrectly

Like another poster I suspect you just didn't line up the grooves correctly. There are four of them (all at a 90 degree angle to each other), but one is larger than the other, so the filter only fits one way.

I'd bet just about any amount of money that Brita doesn't make a "defective batch," at least as far as the fit is concerned. These filters all fit the same.

Yes. I even ordered a new filter and tried it. Both of them didn't work out and there was a gap. I am back to PUR filter setup.
100% user error.

You must line up the one big groove slot or it won't go fully down and lock in. I have never ever had an issue with water pouring down the sides. They all work perfectly. Push it down too after lining up the groove.

I would most likely buy this just for the xl dispenser and use the cheaper filters. I have been happily using the white filters so no reason for me to change the filter. The cheaper white filters work with this xl dispenser perfectly fine.

The elite filter needs to be changed once every 6 months. I actually swap my white filters once every 3 months (not 2 months).

A 2 pack elite filter is on sale for $31.49 (retail $34.99).

I can, too, say that I misaligned the grooves the first time I tried it. Only when I looked inside, there was one large groove that I ignored.

That's about the same price as a first party zerowater filter. How is the filtration of this elite filter compared to that?

I've used both, albeit not side-by-side. Anecdotally, Elite does taste significantly better than non-elite. Both zero water and elite taste better than non-elite. Elite filter lasts several times longer than non-elite or zero. As a side-benefit, the water somehow filters significantly faster with the elite than non-elite.

This or the ZeroWater 32 cup pitcher for pretty much the same price?

Bought the normal, non-super filter version, about a month ago and would buy again. I'm not worried about the filter cause I'm using already filtered water from the dispenser in stores with my water jugs. Just nice to have for cold water from the fridge.

Great design and slim footprint that easily fits in your fridge.
