The Core i5-11600K is a great deal for the 11th gen lineup. It has a better performance to value ratio than the i7 11th gen. Plus with a small overclock it can hang (for gaming) with the i9 11th gen. Gamer's Nexus did a variety of benchmarks on this chip.

So this is for some one with an 10100k and wants a small amount more processing power or something??
I can't picture the aim here. If doing a cheap new build, even the 5600x beats or ties this, and b550's are a better go to on the cheap imo, and then there's the 12600k up right now for cheaper and the new boards are affordable now. and then there's the 5600x3d... I mean anyone have a thought here, I'd guenuinely like to know

I have a 10th gen CPU for my NAS and a mobo that has 2 NVME slots, but one of them can only be used with the 11th gen CPU. This would be one reason I'd upgrade to this thing... but certainly not at this price.

I would not get an intel chip that is 11th generation or older, the downfall thing sounds scary

11th gen has always been inexplicably expensive. The sub $200 12600K in particular has always made rocket lake a terrible deal.

...Maybe if you need AVX512, its alright? But then you can get DDR5 with a 7600X or 12600K that would nullify that advantage in such workloads.
