Thank you. The 110f heat here in FL is literally going to kill me one day. My central AC doesn't make a dent anymore

It doesn't look promising. The HSPF2 score of this model is too low according to:
https://www.energystar.gov/about/...heat_pumps

And I can't find a manufacturers certificate on their web site
https://energystar-mesa.force.com...0088473862

And the company is not listed on the rebate finder:
https://www.energystar.gov/productfinder/product/certified-mini-split-heat-pumps/results?formId=aefa... [energystar.gov]

Be very careful with electrical. These are great DIY project if you are replacing one, but installing a new one with older houses and panels, you have to be very careful.

Just turn everything off at the main disconnect right? My house is 64 years old.

Is this compatible with 120/240V? 208V is generally commercial. Seems like a great price. Can the hole be behind the unit or does it have to be next to it?

Has anyone build a matched solar panel system with batteries to run this, or similar, as a standalone system ? I'd like to add several to replace an aging standard HVAC (electric and gas) but ideally would be build to be self sufficient. Any thoughts welcome. TIA

If you are a fair DIY person you can do this. You will need to pull a vacuum on the lines before letting the gas out into the system. Flair Seal rings on the line connections and ac sealant paste. If you cut the lines get the right flair tool. Be sure to wire it up right, the directions in these things can be pretty poor sometimes.

This is nothing special. The 9K BTU unit needs its own 20A double-pole breaker and a disconnect box. It only draws 2 to 3A when running.

Need 220V, right? Or just 110?
