Could never understand the high rating of Hoka shoes. I get they're super comfy, but they look hideous imho and unless you're 5 feet tall, dudes wearing platform shoes is just....not cool? I know it's very subjective, but they just don't have the cool looks...

This shoes are not for style statement. These are for people who wear shoes for specific reasons like running or those who stand on their feet for long time, like nurses or other health care provider. I am a healthcare provider and has to stand long hours and walk a lot during hospital rounds and can vouch for these shoes.
If you ever work in a warehouse, standing for 8+ hours a day, with nowhere to sit, this is the shoe you get. Either this, or you get to enjoy the sound of your ankles cracking and bruising from the strain. These are not for fashion. They are for survival.
1. ATR Stinson, heavy, lots of cushion - good for stiff concrete floors, uneven terrain.
2. Bondi 8, like above but lighter with less cushion, more for intermediate walk/standing.
3. Clifton, very little cushioning, flexes easily. Good for short walks.
I usually buy hoka one one from rei outlet. Usually they're around $170 and go for sale at $100 with free shipping.
