I can't comment on the straw lid, but I have some 40 oz thermoflasks that still work great after 2 or 3 years of daily use.

Ive bought probably 16 of these thermoflask bottles from costco at this point, since they first started selling their relabeled bottles. I bought 2 two packs of the new color pallet and the gasket in them is NOT what it used to be. It very easily comes dislodged making a leak far more likely unless you check the gasket every time you put it together. For whatever reason the older bottles i have keep their gasket in place way better.

Really wish these were good but they consistently start leaking after 3-6 months.
I was gifted one that was missing a gasket and it did the same. Finally realized it, ordered one, and it's tight as a drum now.

Comparable to a Zojirushi, although I think Zojirushi might keep things just a tad longer at temperature.

I have a handful of these in the larger size, and love them. They are made by Takeya and the parts are interchangeable.

Wirecutter rated the Takeya bottle with the spout lid the best. I have both and prefer the straw version.

We use these for both our kids and they hold up strong. No leaks. We throw them in dishwasher on regular basis. They come out clean and no mold or anything

Wish these were the spout lids. Can't help thinking an exposed straw being very hygienic especially for my school-aged kids when they just throw their water bottles around and leave them wherever for other kids to sneeze on and kick around.

It's call washing them once in a while.... Own many straw type and just need a little washing. But do agree, nowadays most have moved away from the straw.

I've never had this issue and i have 6 bottles here, with two of them being about 5 years old now. Depending on when you got yours, they may have changed in the past year that is having some manufacturing issue. That's the only thing I could think of.

Same, been using these for years. Never a leak. Very much prefer the spout version over straw though. Saves a TON of time for daily cleaning

Got a couple of the 40oz ones and four of the 16oz (for the kid to take to school). Never had issues with leaking. They get dented, and that rubber thing on the bottom falls off and can get lost, but they're solid, keep water cold, resist bacteria (but the straws need regular thorough cleaning), and don't leak.

For the 40oz, they're not as good as the one we have from Bubba, but better than anything else I've found that big.

These are great kids have been using them daily for 3 years now at school. Also you can mix and match lids between the 40 and 16oz bottles
