They might or might not cause an issue "at your house". Only if you have a septic system would these likely cause an issue "at your house" (which is about 25% of homes in the US). If you don't have a septic system, these can backup in the general sewer system. Just a quick google should show you that these things DO cause some massive sewer system backups:
