Only 12 inches deep. Good for light garage items like spray cans of car chemicals or detailing stuff.

Definitely mount it to studs and not drywall. Or make sure any racking system is stud mounted. It'll fall down otherwise.

It is designed to mount onto their track system. But if you aren't using it, I agree that you need to mount to a stud. It will not hold otherwise.

You can use wood. Lowes also has a good deal on the GearWall today.

It is not a cheap product, but there are other brands that charge a lot more for the slatwall. The Gladiator gearwall is thick PVC and seems to be very robust. I think it is the best bang for the buck. This sale only comes around about three times a year.

Good deal. Unfortunately doesn't look like Lowes Carrie's the 96" smoke colored ones. Hmm what to do…

Yeah, I just need to install the two unopened boxes of 96" GearWall that have been taking up space on the side my garage floor for the past, oh, 5-6 years now, so I'll have room to buy and store more of these....

If you have any gladiator tool boxes shipped to you, check the boxes for dents before you sign for them. I've had them arrive dented and damaged with the boxes looking fairly good still.

cheepman nailed it there with his comment. i've been keeping an eye out for these for a year or so now. i did some research before i decided which system to go with. the next or closest is the Newage and they're a little more expensive but all that is special order. Husky or Craftsman has a decent selection but they're also just as expensive. With that said all of these brands hardly ever go on sale and if they do it's usually 10-15% off only. this is the lowest i've seen so far and the gladiator system is pretty popular and easy to pick up at your local lowes if you want to add on. I have the newage and they're ok not that robust. the gladiator i think is a little better due to the dimples they put in the door.

If you actually put the GearWall on the wall, you will be able to get a lot more stuff off the floor and on the wall. Before this, my garage looked like something the pickers would have liked to explore.

I hate having stuff on the floor too. More dust collects and you can't clean it too.
