I've had this for a week, bought it for a similar price. I'm coming from a pressure-side Polaris 280, which as you may know requires running a pump tied to a timer, and gets constantly tangled up or needs adjustments.

So far, this has been excellent. I've seen it pickup fine silt, it has scrubbed the walls, did not get tangled and importantly - draws 100W instead of the pump drawing 560W.

For this price, don't hesitate.

Thanks OP. Bit the bullet since my cordless one feels like it's dying and Polaris is a reputable brand.

Read the reviews… I have a cheap cordless $100 one I found on Groupon that works great (doesn't clean waterline or walls ) but the reviews on this one make me not want to change

Yeah, I am stuck on the reviews as well. Our old Hayward is on its last legs, but not sure I want to fork over $300 for this one w/the reviews.

Interesting. I have a 280 now that I bought about a year ago, that replaced a very old 280. If I didn't have that I would jump on this, but I am not sure how much better this is. Seems like a pain to take it out and clean the filter daily.

With the 280, it runs about an hour a day.

Guess I am trying to talk myself out of it.

Depends on the pool....i'd try this over my poolvergnuegen and it would work certainly 60% of the year but i'm in florida surrounded by lots of plants, not screened in, so during storm season i have a good bit of debris daily. I'd have to leave this in or it would be a daily inspection routine. With a screened in pool here which i've had before i'd for sure go for this.

no way i'm putting a robot in daily or even weekly...life too busy for that, and the poolvernuegen has been running many many years and doesn't choke on debris.

Everything has a use case vs time....pool that stays relatively clean or if you have a regular maintenance routine this would be great. Even with a variable speed pump which i'm not a fan of due to water features ...real pain in the arse, there's a few cleaners that run acceptible suction side at lower rpm. But then you have your DE filter which if you don't keep up on will affect that scenario a lot sooner.

The other thing is leaving on in 24x7 will catch anything that could stain.

Can it be used for above ground too?

I have the Polaris 4x4 one or whatever that's called, it's a life saver. How do people vacuum or clean their pools all the time, just connect to return and hope you get everything. I feel like Polaris scrubs the pool floor and walls. My only complain is that it's heavy as hell and I hate the cord, I wish they made a retractable one already.

Anyone have experience with this on a rounded bottom pool? Also how readily available are the replacement brushes/parts that wear out?

It says it wouldn't be compatible with a weaker above ground pool pump....anyone try this for above ground?

I'm surprised no one has made a zima blue comment yet. This pool robot is going to go a long way.
