Unlike UL, ETL does not create their own standards for certification, but only makes sure that products meet the standards created by UL.

As someone who has manufactured in China for decades, I can promise you there is a big difference. The outcome may be identical, but UL is much harder to achieve. There is more regulation, testing and quality control involved. Many more procedures are followed and overseen in a much stricter manner. That doesn't mean that ETL is inferior, but it does mean you are putting more trust in a Chinese manufacturer's oversight and quality control.

I got this one for traveling. It's okay but I prefer something smaller. Not sure if cruise ship allow this practical one onboard. It would be great since they don't have enough outlet inside the cabin.
