1. Keep the original sim inside the phone you want the plan to be moved to (Tracfone sim is reuseable iirc)
2. Go to online activation page, activate the phone you want the plan to be moved to
3. Select keep your number (pick the number asscociated with the plan you want to move)
4. Once completed, the plan will be moved to the "new" phone
Most people recommend against swapping sim between phones because it can lead to various issues.
If your kids use a lot of data, then the plan may not work for you. You can add more data once you used up the initial 1.5GB, but it is not cheap since 1GB of data costs $10 (remember, the 1.5GB is the amount of data available to you for the whole year, not for each month). If you join the reward program, may be you will be able to get enough reward points to buy another 3GB extra data.

Can I purchase this phone from QVC, wait 60 days to have it unlocked, and move the SIM card to my old phone for about 30 days so my old phone can be unlocked as well? From what I've recalled, moving the SIM card to another phone may cause issues and it's best to contact customer service to have them associate the phone to this line and send me a new SIM card. Does requesting a new SIM card require a fee?
Also, does it have to be a consecutive 60 days for TracFone to unlock my phone?
Thanks in advance!

I had 100% success rate with unlocking "original" TF phones. The notable exception are few "rebranded" ones from TW, ST etc.
Always keep the original SIM with the phone that comes with it.

Waiting for 60 days is not a problem.

This may be a noob question. How can you text 611 if the sim is inactive? (If only used 1 month plan).
