I never said it's dumb to buy digital, I said there are a lot of us that still buy physical copies. Also, phone internet doesn't matter, as if I'm watching a movie, I'm not going to succumb to the crappy quality I would get from streaming off of my cell phone. There are plenty of times where either I don't have internet, or more often, I want higher quality viewing.

Um, that's not true. I generally only buy a movie if I can get 4K, Blu-ray, and digital copy. I want tons of movies to choose from in case there's no internet, or when I want to watch something at a higher quality. There's a lot of us out there.

I agree though, when you have no rush shipping credits, might as well buy something digital.

While I agree there's a lot of long term uncertainty in digital ownership, it's not in anybody's interest to allow millions of people to lose something they thought they paid for and owned. It would do immense damage to a model they only want to grow.

How often are you in a situation where you don't have internet or a cell signal but still have access to a working Blu-ray player and TV?

Collect all the Blu-rays you want but stop trying to convince others that it's dumb to buy digital.

I'm not sure about a movie, but Amazon did that with a Kindle book at least once. Funnily enough, the book was Orwell's 1984.
